Advancements in Wireless Technology for Single Unit Electrophysiology Recording

Wireless neural recording has opened up a new realm of research, trading tethers and commutators for improved battery packs and unprecedented flexibility. This has allowed researchers to easily acquire long-term recordings in social, freely moving animals.

In this webinar, experts present new technology for wireless neural recording, focusing on applications, methodology and the impact these devices will have in freely behaving animals.

Dr. John A. Wolf from University of Pennsylvania discusses his research measuring chronic effects of traumatic brain injury in rodents and larger animals. He also demonstrates the application of a custom data acquisition system for recording up to 64 channels over 24 hours.

In addition, Dr. Kari Hoffman from Vanderbilt University presents a case study reviewing her use of chronic, multi-site neural recording in unrestrained macaques to study learning and memory.
